Description
The STIHL HLA 86 is built for the hedge work that doesn’t stop at eye level. Quiet battery-powered operation and zero exhaust emissions make it a natural fit for residential properties and other noise-sensitive areas, while the same durable outer shaft used on its gas-powered counterpart provides the confidence to take on demanding trimming tasks. As hedges grow taller and harder to reach, the HLA 86 helps you stay productive from the ground. Its toolless telescoping shaft extends to a total length of 10.8 feet, bringing more of the job within reach. The articulating head adjusts from -45° to +70° and locks into seven working positions, making it easier to shape tops, refine sides, and reach awkward angles with precision. Paired with a 20-inch double-sided cutter bar, it delivers clean, consistent results from multiple cutting directions. A brushless motor and variable-speed trigger provide smooth, responsive control, giving you the flexibility to move from detailed shaping to broader trimming with confidence. Designed and tested for splash-water protection, the HLA 86 features IPX4-rated weather-resistant construction, combining extended reach, versatility, and the convenience of battery power in a hedge trimmer ready for professional-quality results.Note: Tools in the STIHL AP System are compatible with both STIHL ALLPRO batteries and STIHL AP batteries.
